Juan Ernesto Snead Amarilla was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Paraguay to the United Kingdom in 2024 via Presidential Decree No. 1562 “For which Mr. Juan Ernesto Snead Amarilla is appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Paraguay to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland”.
He was born on 25th of January 1967 in Ypacarai, Paraguay (57 years). H.E Snead is a Lawyer graduated in the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the National University of Asuncion (2001) and also alumni of the University of Texas, Dallas (UTD) for the Economic, Public Policy Sciences School (EPPS). He worked at Binational Hydroelectric Yacyretá for over 30 years as Secretary of the Board (2001-2002). Mr. Snead also served in diverse roles in the same entity, such as advisor and representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Binational Entity 2000-2002, and Executive Secretary of the International Arbitration Group between Yacyreta and Eriday - UTE, Company responsible for the construction of the main civil works (2002-2003).
With strong vision for commerce, he became the President of the U.S. Paraguay Chamber of Commerce September (2017 to early 2024). Other positions undertaken involve: Representative of the Yacyretá Entity before the Legal Commission of Hydroelectric Entities by the President of the Republic of Paraguay (2008-2009), Ministry of Public Works and Communications (2003 - 2007).
