REQUIREMENTS

1. At least one of the parents must be of natural Paraguayan nationality.

2. Present copies of the parents' identity documents (passport or identity card).

3. Birth Certificate (original duly legalised – see section on legalization of documents) issued by the competent authorities.

4. Appearance of the parents. In the event that one of the parents cannot appear, a written authorisation must be presented for the registration of the minor.

5. Appearance of the minor.

6. Two (2) passport-colour photographs.

An authenticated copy of the registration will be issued to the Embassy records. This document is necessary for the processing of the identity card/passport in Paraguay. Both the identity card and the first passport can only be processed in Paraguay.
